ABOUT US
We specialise in architectural-led design management — a service that combines design leadership, interior expertise, and structured coordination across the entire life of a project. Our role is to guide and manage every stage of the design process while ensuring specialists, consultants, and contractors remain aligned with a clear and cohesive design intent.

Our capability is built on the professional experience of our directors, gained over decades in previous architectural and interior design roles across residential, commercial, civic, and government environments in New Zealand and internationally. This depth of experience allows us to provide a level of clarity, coordination, and design continuity that goes beyond the traditional architectural model.

We lead the design from feasibility through concept and developed design, while coordinating the technical specialists responsible for building consent documentation. This approach gives clients a single point of accountability, stronger design consistency, and a more streamlined path to construction — without unnecessary complexity or duplication of work.

Our interior architecture capability ensures that interior and architectural elements are seamlessly integrated from the outset, creating projects that are both functionally resolved and experientially strong. During construction, we continue to support the design intent, assisting with queries, reviewing shop drawings, and ensuring alignment with the agreed direction.

Across projects of any type or scale — whether a new development, an interior environment, a refurbishment, or an early feasibility study — our purpose remains the same: to provide disciplined design leadership, coordinated decision-making, and a clearer, more reliable project experience from start to finish.
Meet Our Team Leaders
Our practice is guided by directors whose professional experience comes from decades of architectural, interior, and design management roles across New Zealand and the UK. Their work on a wide range of projects — completed in previous positions within established architectural and interior design practices — forms the foundation of our approach today.

Together, they bring:
-
Architectural and interior design experience across residential, commercial, civic, workplace, and specialist environments
-
Extensive involvement in feasibility, concept design, planning interpretation, and design management
-
Strong relationships with planners, surveyors, engineers, and builders
-
A clear understanding of design risks, coordination challenges, and practical delivery pathways

This combined background allows us to identify opportunities early, resolve constraints effectively, and support project teams with informed, balanced decision-making.

Philippa Christie
Interior Designer / Interior Architecture Lead

Philippa brings a rich blend of international experience and local insight to the Kinex Plus team. Beginning her career at a leading commercial interior design practice during her studies at Victoria University of Wellington, she later moved to London, where she completed her Master’s degree in Architecture and Interior Design. Her time in the UK exposed her to a diverse range of design influences, teaching opportunities, and large-scale commercial projects.
With experience spanning corporate, hospitality, and residential environments, Philippa has developed a refined understanding of how people interact with space — and how thoughtful design can support function, flow, and wellbeing. She is passionate about sustainable thinking and was part of the founding cohort of NZ Green Building Council Accredited Professionals.
At Kinex Plus, Philippa supports concept development, interior spatial planning, material direction, and client-side design reviews. Her strength lies in translating client goals into cohesive design ideas and ensuring interior layouts work seamlessly with the architectural strategy.
Philippa is valued for her calm, considered approach and her ability to bring clarity and creativity to the early stages of every project.
